About Terri Wells

Award winning artist, Terri M Wells has always loved the wild places of the natural world and regularly paints on public lands and private ranches. She’s participated in many national shows including Maynard Dixon Country as well as America’s Parks Through the Beauty of Art, and the Brinton Museum’s inaugural Artist in Residency. Terri’s appreciation for nature was heightened by frequent hikes through the fields, woods, meadows, and creek sides surrounding her parents' farm near Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Her appreciation for the arts and city life was fostered by trips to the Art Institute of Chicago and the vast collection of public art on display throughout the city. Terri finished her BFA in Studio Art at Kent State University after two years at Iowa State University's Design School. Morton Grossman, educated at the Art Students League, helped to provide her classical art education. She attended the Blossom Festival School of Art where artists Janet Fish and Dale Chihuly influenced her most. Terri’s paintings share nature’s light, movement, and color---deeply immersed, absorbed, contemplated---and the joy of that experience.

We strongly believe in the importance of preserving this historical property, and the need for sharing it with other artists. We want to ensure that future generations will understand and benefit from everything we do at the Dixon property, which is why we continue to produce the fine arts events, host artist retreats, mount major shows for important artists and host art workshops.
