Maynard Dixon Legacy Museum
This May 23rd 2020, the Maynard Dixon Legacy Museum will present an exhibition titled: Beauty of the Southwest: An Artistic Journey by Robert Goldman. Last Fall, Robert traveled through many scenic areas of the Southwest to gather visual material for this show. Subjects include areas such as Coal Mine Canyon, Vermilion Cliffs, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Barracks Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks, plus many other areas of interest. For certain paintings, Robert used a drone to present a new perspective and to view otherwise inaccessible areas. Robert has been a professional artist for 50 years, and originally lived and painted in San Diego, California, then Tucson, Arizona, and since 2013, he and his wife Barbara reside in Prescott, Arizona where he can be closer to the Northern Arizona and southern Utah areas which inspire him. This show follows on the heels of a an exceptional one man show at the Thunderbird Gallery which highlighted the explorations of John Wesley Powell. Last September Robert received Best of Show at the Grand Canyon Celebration of Art, juried by Jean Stern, the director of the Irvine Museum in California. Robert recently received second place in the Oil Painters of America Fall Online Showcase. The Maynard Dixon Legacy Museum welcomes you to see this exceptional show on May 23rd.
