About Colleen K. Howe
Colleen Howe is a pastel artist living and working in Montana. Her love for nature and the land is present in her pastel and oil landscape paintings. She grew up riding horses on her family's cattle ranch in southwestern Montana and her daily wanderings allowed her to watch how light affected the beauty of sky and land. Colleen's paintings show her sensitivity for color harmony, and mastery of the use of pastel and oil. Her focus is primarily on landscapes, where she continues to look for the most expressive ways to convey the spirit and beauty of open space. Howe won First Place at the Pastel Society of Utah in their 1999 statewide exhibition. She is also a devoted teacher of numerous nationwide workshops.
