Maynard Dixon Living History Museum Tours
GIFTSHOP AND GALLERY ARE OPEN DAILY YEAR ROUND
Between March 15 and November 15, volunteers are on hand to give tours at the Maynard Dixon studio and home in Mt. Carmel, Utah.
Come to Southern Utah and see the home that artist Maynard Dixon and his wife Edith built, walk the mountain trails where Maynard Dixon spent quiet, reflective moments, and experience beautiful views that are called "Maynard Dixon Country."
Docent Guided Tours are $40 per person and must be scheduled in advance. To make a reservation, please contact the Maynard Dixon Home and Studio in Mt. Carmel.
Self Guided Tours of Maynard Dixon's home and property are available daily for $20 per person during the same months.
All tours begin at the Thunderbird Foundation headquarters, located in the Gallery at 2200 South State Street in Mount Carmel.
During the winter months all the power and water is turned off. Tours may be available depending on the weather.
Artist Maynard Dixon's home is a living history museum and not a fine art museum. There are several examples of Maynard Dixon artwork throughout the buildings. These are very fine reproductions. The current market for paintings by artist Maynard Dixon causes them to be very rare. People seeking to buy artwork need to be prepared to disclose their budget and expectation for such purchase. We will then make an effort to obtain such. Beginning on July 4th a one man showing of David Lee's "Footsteps of Thomas Moran" will be on exhibition in the main gallery.
