Thunderbird Foundation for the Arts Will Celebrate
150 Years of Powell's First Journey
Robert Goldman will make a series of paintings from the perspective of certain locations
and landing spots that Powell and his crew viewed and visited during their trip in 1869
The presentation will begin mid May 2019 to coincide with the numerous celebrations planned
throughout the region by several organizations.
This book is a conception by Carol and her husband Cevin and is best described here:
" While both Powell and Hillers have been celebrated, the Indians who contributed to their
successes have been largely unknown and unrecognized.
They are the missing piece of the story of Powell’s expeditions."
