About Pamela Ingwers

My focus as a painter is to tell a story, and the language I use is light. Preferring to paint directly from life outdoors, capturing the true spirit of the location while interpreting the transitory light, is a challenge and passion. My goal is to capture a peaceful moment with a strong sense of place, the viewer can feel and be part of. It is usually at the crack of dawn, the last golden hour of the day, or a moonlit night, when I head out with my plein air painting gear in search of that special moment in time which tells a story worth returning to anytime when viewed on canvas. Many of these outdoor studies are used as references for larger paintings in my studio in San Diego. While I’ve worked in a variety of mediums over the years, I now primarily focus on oils, as I love its ability to be manipulated on my canvas with expressive brush work. Education: Born and raised in Colorado, I am grateful for the opportunities beyond my University years to have studied with many master’s in the field including Watts Atelier, Ray Roberts, Mark Kerckhoff, John Budicin, Bill Davidson, Robert Goldman, Eric Merrill and Calvin Liang. Many thanks to them and others who have had such a positive impact on my lifelong journey as an artist. I am honored that both my studio and plein air paintings from home and abroad have captured the attention of some very important collectors, including the San Diego Maritime Museum.

Maynard Dixon Camp Out

SHOW CONTINUES....................................

The Dixon Camp Out is much more than just an art show. In fact, it's not really an art "show" at all. This event is a gathering of artists, collectors, community, and friends who love art.

The guiding principles of the event are two fold: we want to help artists in America and we want to ensure the viability of historic preservation. We are deeply connected to the art of Maynard Dixon and his contributions to American art. But rather than focusing solely on the beloved paintings of Maynard Dixon, we focus on the "art spirit" and intention of Maynard Dixon, the artist, poet, and whole person. In choosing to remember Dixon this way, we believe his legacy becomes even more meaningful when it is illuminated by the artists who are living and making art in 2017.

The camp out is one of our major fundraising events to support the Thunderbird Foundation for the Arts. In bringing serious collectors to this event, we help the artists on the forefront of American art continue to thrive, and we fulfill our mission for historic preservation. All art sales from Dixon Country Camp Out directly fund the artists as well as the annual operating budget of the Thunderbird Foundation for the Arts and the Maynard Dixon Living History Museum.

We strongly believe in the importance of preserving Dixon's historical property, and the need for sharing it with other artists. We want to ensure that future generations will understand and benefit from everything we do at the Dixon property, which is why we continue to produce the Maynard Dixon Country event, host artist retreats, mount major shows for local artists, and host art workshops.

This promises to be a very exciting show and sale. All of the art listed can be purchased immediately by clicking on the artist's name which will take you to the available art. When you fill out the "Intent to Purchase" form you will receive a link for immediate purchase.
